Gore Labs Maintains ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation

ISO 17025 is the single most important metrology standard for test and measurement equipment. Nearly all national standards bodies and accreditation agencies throughout the world have adopted it as a benchmark for the technical competence of calibration and testing laboratories. It replaces ANSI/NCSL Z540-1994-1, EN45001 and ISO Guide 25. A growing list of companies require it, and some industries have even incorporated it into sector-specific standards (like the automotive industry, etc.).

We're all experiencing tough times right now, and in this hyper-competitive marketplace, it makes no sense to use test or measurement equipment unless you can be absolutely confident that your results are accurate. An inaccurate measurement is worse than no reading at all - you could be passing faulty products that will eventually be returned to you, damaging your reputation. Alternatively, you may be failing perfectly good products, wasting valuable resources. And poorly maintained and calibrated equipment can ultimately result in down-time for your production line.

 ISO 17025 accreditation assures you that a calibration lab operates and maintains an acceptable laboratory management system including all of its processes and documentation. It also assures you that the lab generates technically valid results, taking into account the equipment used, methods, and the competence of its personnel. 

With ISO 17025, a lab has successfully completes a third-party audit and becomes accredited to a standardized set of requirements and a specific scope of capabilities that are recognized internationally.

In a nutshell... once accredited... no more need for audits! 

ISO 17025-accredited laboratories are able to provide high-level accredited calibration services, which are necessary for some users. Accreditation also satisfies the needs of users who do not necessarily require an accredited service, but know that an independently accredited laboratory is likely to provide higher quality calibration than a non-accredited laboratory.
